'HOUSE I' is located in Bay Shore, NY and features a 24/7 house manager. This house has a fully stocked laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers, 2 vending machines for sodas & snacks, and 3 delicious meals per day. It has a large back yard where we B-B-Q in the summertime. The house is co-ed. Meals are served at 8AM, 12Noon & 6PM, snacks at 8PM. We have package Cablevision, VCR, and DVDs. We also have games such as Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Clue, etc. We have a private pay phone for resident use also. 'House I' is the 'Flagship' of our homes. We can accomodate up to 8 residents in both single and double rooms. Smoking is permitted outside in the rear yard only. Parking spaces are in the front. Bus transportation is directly outside the door. We are located on Brentwood Road, near the Southern State Parkway in Bay Shore, NY 11706. This house primarily caters to those who have a current (or prior) mental illness and who are currently very high functioning. Catholic Charities, Family Service League, and Southside Hospital are all located very close to the residence. 'House III' is also located in Bay Shore, NY and is about 8 blocks North of 'House I'. It is a minimum supervision house. It features accomodations for nine persons. Residents share responsibilities in cooking the meals and in cleaning up afterwards. We encourage residents to share duties of cooking, taking out the trash, cleaning, just like in a real family. We have a free phone (unlimited use), free washing machine, free dryer, ample parking in the rear and on the side of the house. This house is better suited as a 'transitional' house for extremely high functioning individuals who are well on their way to recovery and independence and need an intermediate step before becoming truly independent and self sufficient and living on their own. 'House II' is located in Southold, NY. It is in a very rural area with farms and vineyards. This home has 2 small bedrooms and is suited only for persons who are at an independent level and can be self sufficient. This house does not include food. Included is all utilities (except phone), linen, and furniture. This house is actually a small cottage on a lake and about 2 blocks from the beach. Transportation is essential for anyone wishing to live at 'House II' because public transportation is 3/4 of a mile away. Shopping, banking, stores and the Post Office are all located in 'town' which is 3/4 of a mile away. You defenitely need a car or bicycle to get around here. Taxi service is available locally.
